Brooklyn - The inaugural Sofive Soccer Festival turned East New York into the city's soccer hotbed. The free festival brought open play, globally renowned soccer entities, games, vendors, live matches and tons of soccer swag to the community.

Things got off to a fun start at the Bundesliga Lounge, where fans could watch their favorite teams on multiple screens, experience exclusive Bundesliga content in VR, and win amazing prices such as an autographed Robert Lewandowski shirt or a Schalke 04 jersey signed by the whole team. The precious goods were delivered by none other than Bayern Munich mascot Berni and Schalke mascot Erwin! Both took time to pose for photos, play games with the fans, and explore the other vendors at the festival.

At the New York City FC field, players could test their skill at the gigantic soccer dart wall and test their luck at the spinning wheel. Across the field, Ohle Soccer Machines showed young and old tricks to improve their technique, while Intelligent Threads brought smart sports wear that relaxes your muscle tissue. Of course there were plenty of cool soccer vendors from Legacy Boots to vintage soccer shirts, artistic jerseys and soccer lifestyle brands.

Another highlight was the appearance of Sky Blue FC center back Domi Richardson, who took selfies, signed shirts, willfully answered questions about her pro career, and flashed her skills on the turf despite healing from an ankle injury.

But the true stars were the many players that came to the tournaments, classes, camps, and open play all day. After letting it all out on the Sofive pitch, refreshments awaited from our generous sponsors Essentia and Brooklyn Crafted. The festival’s fitting end came as our beer partner Heineken raffled off six VIP dugout tickets at Yankee Stadium to an NYFCF game. Sofive would like to thank all attendees, players, partners, sponsors and staff for a fantastic day of soccer.
